2013 Summer Art Camp

This year’s summer art camp has been a huge success! Once again the week was packed full of kids and unique art projects. Our camp director, Deby Childress, has been running this camp for years and the kids absolutely love her and all of the fun projects. I spoke to one 5th grader who has been coming to the camp since Kindergarten! Judging from her sketches she is going to be a fabulous artist as she continues to hone her skills.

As you talked to the students you could tell that this one-of-a-kind experience is one they will never forget. I know our daughter was always sad to leave each day and she couldn’t wait to get back. And you can understand why when you hear the stories of their projects. They built bowels out of clay, they created unique birds, water color paintings and more.

All of their hard work was then put on display at the end of the week. The kids stood by their creations and told all the parents what they created, they talked about their favorite projects, favorite colors and then asked for everyone to sign their art journal. What an experience! Here are a few pictures from the event. And if you want to participate next year be sure to follow us on Facebook for all the latest information.
