Located just west of Austin, TX, nestled between the beautiful Texas hill country and Lake Travis, you will find the city of Bee Cave. A City that shares in Austin’s eclectic vibe, love of the outdoors and reverence for the arts. Bee Cave is growing rapidly as Austin migrates West and realizes all that Bee Cave offers from shopping at the hill country galleria, to enjoying music at the backyard to playing in bee cave’s expansive central park.
In 2009 The Bee Cave Arts Foundation (BCAF) was founded to expand on the city’s love of the arts and outdoors. The BCAF mission is to improve the quality of life in our community and enhance the experience of visitors by bringing awareness, education and integration of a wide range of art throughout public spaces.
Currently, The Bee Cave Arts Foundation is looking for sculpture submissions for the bee cave Sculpture Park. The Bee Cave Sculpture Park, officially opened in November 2013, weaves throughout a natural setting showcasing sculptures and offering unique educational experiences.
There are two ways to get involved:
- On loan: artist can loan a sculpture piece to the bee cave sculpture park for a minimum time duration of one year. The BCAF will assist the artist in the marketing of the sculpture in hopes of selling the piece. A $200 stipend will be included for on loan pieces to assist the artist in installation, transportation and removal costs.
- Permanent: Permanent sculptures will be funded by either the Artist as an in kind donation or by sponsoring community members, organizations and/or companies that possess a passion for arts in the Bee Cave community.
